Public Comment Protocol

2021
Reuniones y agendas
The public is invited and welcome to participate in the MetroPlan Executive Board and Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meetings. Every meeting includes a public comment period, giving an opportunity for members of the public to give comment on items of interest to the Board or TAC.

Public questions and comments must be emailed to planning@metroplaflg.org prior to the meeting or presented during the call for public comment.

Pursuant to the Arizona Open Meeting Law, speakers must directly address the agenda items. Public comments related to items appearing on the posted agenda may be given in person or online and will be taken when the item is discussed.

Comments not related to items appearing on the posted agenda item may be provided during the call for public comment at the beginning of the meeting. The Executive Board, TAC and Metroplan Staff may not discuss or take action on matters raised during the call to the public.

To allow sufficient time for all interested parties to address the Executive Board or TAC, a time limit of three (3) minutes per individual will be imposed. You may ask questions, but our staff will formally respond at a later date.
Attending In-Person
Speakers attending in-person will complete a Request for Public Input form and give it to the Clerk. When the Clerk calls your name, please proceed to the podium. State your name and affiliation for the minutes. You may give your comments when the Clerk starts the timer.
Attending Via Teams (Virtually)
Speakers attending virtually will raise their hand by clicking on the hand icon in the Microsoft Teams application to make a Request for Public Input. When the Clerk calls your name, you will be unmuted and asked to make your comments. State your name and affiliation for the minutes. You may give your comments when the Clerk starts the timer. When you have finished making your comment, the Clerk will mute your line, and we ask that you please lower your hand by clicking on the hand icon again.
Regular meetings and work sessions are open to the public. Persons with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation by contacting the MetroPlan Office via email at planning@metroplanflg.org. MetroPlan complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to involve and assist underrepresented and underserved populations (age, gender, color, income status, race, national origin and LEP – Limited English Proficiency.)
